Throughout my career in the fire service, I’ve witnessed the harsh realities first-hand: firefighters collapsing from dehydration, being too fatigued to return to overhaul and in the most extreme cases, even experiencing cardiac arrest after performing fire attack. These are not just statistics—they’re the lives and wellbeing of our brothers and sisters on the front lines.

After reflecting on these experiences and researching what our bodies truly need during and after intense firefighting, I realized something crucial: standard sports drinks simply don’t cut it for first responders. They may hydrate, but they don’t refuel the critical nutrients lost in the line of duty.
